William Glenn Luther, 86, of Springdale, Arkansas, died May 21, 2012 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born November 2, 1925 at Gentry, Arkansas, the son of Herbert and Mae Brown Luther. He was the retired general manager of Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative Corporation in Mena, Arkansas and a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific theatre where he was a boxing champion. He was a member of the Mena Church of Christ where he had served as Deacon and Elder and a member of the American Legion. He was a past chairman of the board of Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, a former board member of Central Area Data Processing, Arkansas Rural Endowment Fund and Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include: his wife of sixty-three years, Lorraine Howard Luther of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bill and Barbie Luther of Eldorado, Arkansas and Wylie Luther of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Reba Luther of Ava, Missouri; one sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and J. D. Chastain of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; the mother of his grandchildren, Donna Luther of Springdale, Arkansas; one grandson, Ryan Luther of Springdale, Arkansas and two granddaughters, Stephanie Lee and Laura Luther, both of Springdale, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, May 24, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Van Ledbetter, Minister officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: J. R. Howard, Les Howard, Lucas Howard, Ryan Luther, Tim Robbins and Mark Robbins.
