James Joe Cooley, 75, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Fort Smith, Arkansas after an extended hospital stay.
James was born January 19, 1937 in Konawa, Oklahoma to William and Nancy Lane Cooley.
He worked in the oilfield for fifty two years. He was an active member of the Ozark Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Cooley and a son, Randall Cooley.
He is survived by his wife, Jean McClain Cooley of Ozark; two daughters, Candy
Svetlecic and husband Joe of Barling, Arkansas and Robin Cooley and companion Johnny Higginbotham of Ozark, Arkansas; two sons, Andy Cooley and wife Martine of Prospect, Kentucky, and James Cooley, Jr. and wife Lisa of Georgetown, Kentucky; one daughter in law, Jody Cooley of Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister, Midge Roberts; two brothers, Bill and Rex Cooley; seven grandchildren, Justin Novak, Brittanie Stinchcomb, Cassie Cooley, Ryan Cooley, Austyn Cooley, Liberty Cooley and Mac Cooley, as well as four great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Shaffer Funeral Home with Reverend John Brasseaux officiating with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
