Nora Ethel Mitchell, 89, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died April 4, 2011 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville, Arkansas. She was born June 7, 1921 at George, Arkansas, the daughter of Jasper Newton and Melvina Allred Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Berton Duke "Burt" Mitchell on December 27, 2003. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jonah Clark and Norman Clark and by two sisters, Pina Petree and Virginia Jones.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Wimbert Grigg of Huntsville, Arkansas and Mary and Guy Riley of Hindsville, Arkansas; five sisters, Artie Clark of Ruston, Louisiana, Polly Krantz of Myrtle Point, Oregon, Opal Shipman of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Georgia Hayes of Salinas, California and Louisiana Henderson of Springdale, Arkansas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Grigg of Huntsville, Arkansas; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Marie and Keith Phillips and Angela and Kelly Holloway, all of Huntsville, Arkansas; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday, April 7, at the Huntsville Free will Baptist Church with The Reverends Jim Spurlock and Eldon Bagwell officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Reeves, L. N. Burks, Dennis Waters, Don Smith, Max Edwards and Brent Gurley. Honorary pallbearers will be: Johnathon Nelson, Jasper Phillips, Dalton Grigg, Clayton Holloway and Clint Holloway. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
