Dewell
Feb 9,1918-May 16,1989
Dewell Walker, 71, of Rt. 5, Box 67, Huntsville, died May 16, 1989, at the Springdale Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1918, at Aurora, the son of Walter and Dollie Belle Herriman Walker. He was a farmer, a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and a member of Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lily Shipp Walker of the home; one son, Lindon Dale Walker of Huntsville; three daughters, Miss Diana Walker, Mrs. Brenda Frederick and Miss Wilma Walker, all of Huntsville; one brother, Ray Walker of West Fork; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Watkins of Huntsville; one grandson, Chad Frederick of Huntsville; and two granddaughters, Miss Heather Walker of Baldwin City, Kan., and Miss Kayla Frederick of Huntsville.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Hugh Gower, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Jackson, Howard Bolinger, David Griffith, Earnest Spurlock, Dana Samples and X Dotson.
Lily
June 17,1923-Feb 24,2006
Lily Fay Walker, 84, of Huntsville died Feb. 24, 2008, at her home. She was born June 17, 1923, in Ball Creek to Edmond James and Clara Estella Ball Shipp.
She was a homemaker and a member of Huntsville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewell Walker, on May 16, 1989, one son, Lindon Dale Walker, on July 27, 1989, one daughter, Diana Sue Bryant, on July 25, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Frederick and husband Jerry of Huntsville and Wilma Walker of Springdale; one brother, Raymond Shipp of Kellogg, Idaho; one sister, Dorlis Botello of Wenatchee, Wash.; five grandchildren; one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Jim Caldwell will officiate.
Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Watkins, Jerry McChristian, Dwayne Bolinger, Gil Bryant, Junior Watkins and Randy Walker.
