Tressie Bray Haigwood, 91, of Wynne, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital.
Born September 8, 1917, in Evening Shade, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Andrew Milton Bray and Junia Wilkes Bray. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Wynne.
She married Earl Walker Haigwood December 23, 1939, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, reading and gardening.
She enjoyed baking her gourmet apple pies for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Walker Haigwood in 2002; her daughter, Patsy L. Bonham; her parents; three sisters, Edith Lassiter, Bess L. Haigwood and Zela Garrison.
Survivors are a daughter, Beverly Haigwood Johnson and husband, Carl, of Wynne; five grandchildren, Robin Bonham of Cordova, Tennessee, Pamela Bonham of Maumelle, Arkansas, Valerie Johnson Cathey and husband, Derrick, of Wynne, Gregory Johnson of Jonesboro, and Brian W. Johnson and wife, Kimberly, of Wynne.
Five great-grandsons, Dillon, Brooks and Patrick Tuell of Wynne and Chancelor and Brady Johnson of Wynne.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5th at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Mike Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel Cemetery near Cave City.
Pallbearers are Robin Bonham, Gregory Johnson, Brian Johnson, Dillon Tuell, Derrick Cathey and Lance Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Carl Johnson, Royce Haigwood, and Roland Bonham.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5th from noon until 2:00 p.m.
