Vera E. Reeves, age 74 of Norfork, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Mountain Home. Mrs. Reeves was born April 27, 1939 in Old Joe to Andrew and Augusta (Smith) Lane. She married James Leroy (Jim) Reeves on July 10, 1954 in Caldwell, Idaho. Mrs. Reeves was a member of both the Baxter County Historical Society and the Izard County Historical Society. She enjoyed genealogy, and recording information on grave sites in the area. For many years she also ran the snack bar for home games at the Norfork High School. Her dogs and miniature horses, especially "Little Bit" were an important part of her life, and she enjoyed spending time with them.
Mrs. Vera E. Reeves is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Leroy (Jim) Reeves, her daughter; Vickie Farrington and husband Bobby of Amarillo her sons; Rod Reeves and wife Stacie of High Point, North Carolina, Michael Reeves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Andrew Reeves and wife Shelly of Norfork, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sisters; Rilla Broome and husband James of Flower Mound, Texas, and Beverly Neal and husband Marty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother; Jimmy Lane.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Galatia Assembly of God Church in Norfork. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Visit an online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
