Helen Jean Jeffries Marsee, daughter of the late Elmer Jeffries and Macil Etchson Jeffries, was born January 7, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She departed this life April, 7, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 94 years and 3 months. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was united in marriage to Samuel "Sam" Marsee on June 21, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two sons were born. During World War II she was employed at Navel Avionics. She was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Company and the Indianapolis Police Department as a Juvenile Probation Officer. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Spring Creek Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Guiding Star Chapter 588 and the Calico Rock VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Robert Michael and Portia Marsee of Hope, Indiana and Steve and Martie Marsee of Calico Rock; two grandchildren: Julie Khan of Plano, Texas and Amanda Marsee of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister-in-law: Patricia Gramse of Indianapolis, Indiana and brother-in-law: Tom Marsee of Indianapolis, Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brother: Bob Jeffries and Harlan Jeffries
Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Creek Cemetery with Chuck Day officiating. Arrangements by Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
