Hugh Bennett Lane
Hugh B. Lane, 82, was born at Carrsville, Kentucky on April 21, 1930 to Hugh and Mina Lane. He is preceded in death by Hugh and Mina Lane; sister, Mattie Burleson; brothers, Albert Lane and G.G. Lane; sister Norma Palniek; and daughter, Carol Senesac.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Lane of Mountain View, Arkansas; son Hugh F. Lane of Mountain View, Arkansas; adopted daughter in law, Nancy Miller of Mountain View, Arkansas; son in law Vernon Senesac of Bradley, Illinois; sister, Donna Taylor of Bourbonais, Illinois; grandson, Mark Senesac of Bradley, Illinois; granddaughter, Marie and Robbie Odom of Nashville, TN., and six great grandchildren.
He was a retired state employee of 35 years with the State of Illinois and retired to the Mountain View area 27 years ago. He operated Peggy’s Variety Store for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War from 1949-1953 and served 38 months in Korea. He was a member of Glenview United Masonic Lodge in Glenview, Illinois and Blue Mountain Lodge #202 in Mountain View, Arkansas for a total of 61 years. He was also a member of the American Legion in Rosiclare, Illinois for 58 years and a lifetime member of the VFW in Mountain View, Arkansas. Masonic services by Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge 202. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013, 4:00PM at the Masonic Temple in Mountain View, Arkansas. Interment will take place at Sylamore Cemetery, Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00PM.
