HINDSVILLE — James Carl Archer, 76, of Hindsville, Ark., died July 11, 2011, at the Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. He was born April 10, 1935, in Spring Valley, Ark., the son of Sherman Everett and Vista Mary Todd Archer. He had retired from Danaher Tool Group. He was a Free Will Baptist and a member of the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Chassie Lee Maddock Archer of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sandra Archer of Hindsville, Ark.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Glenda Poindexter of Springdale, Ark., and Cheryl Ann and Gary Bowerman of Hindsville, Ark.; one brother, William Archer of Springdale, Ark.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola Ann and Ed Morgal of Wewoka, Okla., and Mary and Rick Smyth of Ozark, Mo.; eight grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Ronnie Bowerman, Bret Bowerman, Jordan Archer and McKenzie Archer, all of Hindsville, Ark., Josh and Jana Robinson, Jason Bowerman, Robert Poindexer and Kyle Archer, all of Springdale, Ark.; two granddaughters and one grandson-in-law, Christy and Anthony Valdez of Lincoln, Ark., and McKayla Archer of Hindsville, Ark.; three great-grandsons, A.J. Valdez and Andrew Valdez, both of Lincoln, Ark., and Hayden Bowerman of Fayetteville, Ark.; and two great-granddaughters, Payton Robinson and Haley Bowerman, both of Springdale, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with the Revs. Eldon Bagwell and Loren Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Morriss Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bowerman, Josh Robinson, Jason Bowerman, Robert Poindexter, Bret Bowerman, Kyle Archer, Jordan Archer and McKenzie Archer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christy Valdez and McKayla Archer.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
