William "Bill" Joseph Murphy, 80, of Springdale, died Friday, Jan. 22, at a Huntsville nursing home.

Born Feb. 18, 1912, at Jersey City, N.J., to William Murphy and Catherine McKenzie Murphy, he was a World War II Army veteran and a retired plumber for the Shell Oil Company. He moved to Springdale from New Jersey in 1982. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors are four sisters, Dorothy Cook of Bayonne, N.J., Mildred Schnur of Woodbridge, Va., Theresa Eubanks of Springdale and Patricia Wagner of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Graveside service and burial are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Joyce Cemetery near Nob Hill with Jack Glaze officiating. Visitation is to be 2-4 p.m, today at Memorial Funeral Service in Springdale.
