Shirley McCord, 65, ofVilonia died Monday (June 12, 2006) at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born Feb. 24, 1941, in Oregon to Martha Brown. She was a waitress and an artist.
She is survived by her companion of 25 years, Dave Vanderhoof; a son, Keith McCord of Vilonia; three daughters, Cheryl DeWitt and Sheri Stewart, both of Vilonia, and Tina McCord of Fairbanks, Alaska. She had three brothers, Ralph Brown, and Kenny and Rick Michaelson, all of Alaska, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the home of Keith McCord in Vilonia.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cypress Valley Cemetery. The Rev. A.J. Brady will officiate.
Even the dolphins loved mom. She was known as Shirley, Sam and Mom. Her laughter filled a room with joy and we know as she begins her new journey she will carry her laughter and loving heart with her. See you soon! We love you.
