Edward "Edd" Lones Massey son of Alexander Gorden Massey and Ethel Victoria (Hugg) Massey. Merle (Matheny) Massey daughter of Bevely Harrison Matheny and Rose (Crabtree) Matheny. Edward "Edd" Lones Massey died at approximately 2:30 p.m. at Dr. Gray's Hospital in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.
Merle Massey
Merle Massey, 87, of Cord, formerly of Strawberry, died Sept 8, 2002, at Wood-Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville.
Born at Shelbyville, she was the daughter of B.H. and Rose Crabtree Massey. She lived at Strawberry most of her life before moving to Cord and then to Batesville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Strawberry church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Massey; a son, Connie Edward Massey; three brothers; ad two sisters.
Survivors include a brother, Herman Matheny, Strawberry; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are today at 10 a.m. in Lancaster Cemetery with Don R House officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn has charge of arrangements.
Obituary placed in The Times Dispatch from the collection of Murr and Marjorie (Massey) Durham.
Funeral home program states nieces and nephews Robert Matheny, Jerry Matheny, Loyd Matheny, Maurine Taylor, Mary Nuss, Rose Orrick, Carolyn Kenny, Faye Latta, Monarie Eagle and Jo Ann Riggs. Many other loving relatives and friends.
