BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Rev. David Curtis Puryear, 86, of Broken Arrow died March 30, 2000, in Owasso, Okla. He was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Spring Valley (Washington County) to David and Bertha Lee Morris Puryear. He was a member of the Baptist Church and became an ordained minister in 1937. He actively preached for 38 years and then supplied smaller churches. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Alean Bowlin Puryear in 1986, and by his second wife of 10 years, Vadys May Lasater Puryear, in 1999.
Survivors include one son, David Puryear of Broken Arrow; one daughter, Wynonne Dwiggins of Mena; one brother, Autry Puryear of Springdale; four grandchildren; four great-grardchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Berry Street Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Richard Perry officiating. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery at Spring Valley under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
