John 'J. L.' Parker, age 86, a resident of Russellville, AR , formerly of Salinas, California, died Sunday, September 30, 2001 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville, AR. He was born on April 15, 1915 in Center Valley Community, AR, to John and Lillie Humphrey Parker. He married Yvonne Myers on December 4, 1939 in Tempe, Arizona. He was an Automotive Mechanic with various Chrysler dealerships in California for 37 years . He was preceded in death by a son Michael D. Parker, granddaughter Michelle Parker, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He was a Lifetime member of the Salinas Bowman's Club in Salinas, California and a member of the Boulder Avenue Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Betty Parker of Russellville; a daughter in law, Roberta Parker-Rose of Salinas; granddaughters, Andrea Parker-Nunez of Ithaca, Shawna Parker of Salinas; a grandson, Michael parker of Salinas; two brothers and a sister in law, Woodrow Parker of Russellville, W.D. 'Bill' and Louise Parker of Russellville.
Funeral service was held 10:00 AM Friday, October 5, 2001 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Dr. Don Ott. Burial was at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, AR.

Betty Parker, 87, of Russellville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The daughter of Cline and Ruth Shell Myers, she was born August 25, 1921 in Ontario, CA. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Russellville. Betty was also a member of the Pottsville Home Extension Club and the Salinas Bowman Archery Club in California. She enjoyed fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "J.L." Logan Parker; her parents; her son, Michael Parker and infant grandson, Michael Dewayne Parker.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Andrea Parker of New York, Shawna Parker of Salinas, California, Michael Parker of Salinas, California; great grandson, Yeelan Parker of New York; brother-in-law, Bill Parker of Little Rock and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 10:00AM, Friday, June 26, 2009 at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, AR.
