SPRINGDALE — Vernon Jasper, 48, of Springdale died Sept. 23, 2008, at Springdale. He was born Dec. 19, 1959, in Groves, Texas, to John and Helen Jones Jasper.
He was a truck driver and member of Sonora Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Lee Jasper.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Jasper of the home, to whom he was married Aug. 16, 1981; two sons, Jonah Jasper and Jacob Jasper, both of Springdale; two brothers, Floyd Jasper of Greenwood, La., and Johnny Jasper of Wilton, N. H.; three sisters, Darlene Rowan of Valrico, Fla., Helen Stipe of La Porte, Texas, and Frances Green of New Caney, Texas; his half brother, Daniel Scott Jasper of Beaumont, Texas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sonora Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westfield Chapel in Springdale, online at www.westfieldchapel.com.
