Dorsey "Buddy" Light, 78, of Russellville, Arkansas went home to be with the lord Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas. The son of Jessie James and Annie Ola Johnson Light, he was born March 5, 1934 in Hope, Arkansas.He married Mary Light November 30, 1955 in Greenville, Mississippi. Buddy was a long time employee of Firestone in Russellville. He helped establish the local union at Firestone. He was a member of the Local 884 Union and served as president for many years. Buddy was also a member of the retirees S O A R organization. He was a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church where he played his guitar and sang at every Sunday morning service. He enjoyed deer and fox hunting with his sons and grandsons. Buddy also loved to garden out in his yard. He loved his family, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Mary Light of Russellville; sons Ricky Light & wife Julie of Dardanelle, Arkansas and Ed Light & wife Paula of Greenbrier, Arkansas; daughters Karen Turner of Russellville and Becky Greer of Russellville; grandchildren Alvin Turner & wife Kim of Russellville, Shane Turner of Russell -ville, Corey Light of Russellville, Amber Light of Dardanelle, Lexie Young & husband Jacob of Conway, Arkansas, Jesse Light of Greenbrier, Sawyer Light of Greenbrier, Jordan Greer of Russellville, Marykay Greer of Russellville and Gracie Greer of Russellville; six great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy Taylor of Morrilton, Arkansas and Pauline Walker of Hope, Arkansas

Died at Russellville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Russellville. The daughter of Marvin and Willie Troupe Outlaw. She was a retail clerk in the grocery industry. Mary loved serving & worshipping her Lord as a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, where she served over the years as a Sunday School teacher and cook for fellowship meals. Of all the things she enjoyed most, her grandchildren was her life. She found great joy in cooking, gardening, and ministering to people in the nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 55 years, Dorsey “Buddy” Light. She is survived by her sons, Ricky Light (Julie) of Dardanelle, Arkansas and Edward Light (Paula) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; daughters, Karen Turner, and Becky Greer (Greg), both of Russellville; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; along with many other nephews and nieces.
