Jimmy Don "J D" Ford, 52, of Russellville, departed this life Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1959, at Russellville, to L D and Dorothy Shelton Ford. He was a retired custodian for the Russellville School District where he worked for 28 years. He had served as a volunteer fireman for the Crow Mountain Fire Department many years ago. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and his grandkids were the apple of his eye and the joy of his heart. He was a member of the Dardanelle Pentecostal Church of God. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Dorothy Shelton Ford, his great-grandparents, Dan "Allie" and Gracie Garrison Shelton and Granville Lee and Sarah Jane Standridge Ford, and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his father, L D Ford of Russellville; 2 daughters and fiancé, Gracie Ford and Johnathan Cowen and Tammy Ford, of Russellville; 1 son, Jimmy Don Ford, Jr of Russellville; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Billy Ford, David and Stacie Ford and Michael Ford, all of Russellville; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Brannon, Jordan Ford, Tyler Gritton, Haley Howell and Kristen Howell, all of Russellville; the mother of his children, Karen Rackley of Poteau, Oklahoma; several aunts and uncles and cousins and a host of special friends that he thought of as family.
