*Obituary
Albert Gabriel "Wilbert" Cia, 95, of Mayflower passed away May 9, 2010 to be reunited with his late wife of 59 years, Olive Pearl Byrn Cia.

Wilbert was born May 18, 1914 in Chicago, Ill., to the late James Giovanni and Verina di Paolo Maioli Cia.

He spent a "farm-boy" childhood with them in Little Italy, Ark., developing a strong commitment to family and respect for hard work.

He spent most of his adult life in Little Rock, working as a mechanic for the Arkansas State Highway Deptartment and heavy equipment foreman for Pulaski County Road and Bridge Department. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends at every opportunity.

Upon retirement, he moved to Lake Conway in Mayflower where he particularly enjoyed catching large flathead catfish and entertaining grandkids — not necessarily in that order.

He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Conway

Also preceding him in death were brothers, Johnny D. (Jenny) and Mario B. (Elaine) Cia both of Little Rock and granddaughters Jennifer Cia of Conway and Emily Armstrong of North Little Rock.

He is survived by sons, James G. (Carolyn) Cia of Little Rock, Norman R. (Suzee) Cia of Conway; brother Harry P. (Stella) Cia of Little Rock; granddaughters, Angela Dunaway, Shellee Chituras and Amanda Armstrong; grandsons, Michael Cia and Gabe Cia; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a special friend and neighbor, Elsie Allison. His gentle presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at Round Mountain Cemetery.

A Wake service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Quick, Sharpe Dunaway, Jerry Armstrong, Michael Cia, Gabe Cia and Kyle Armstrong.
