Mrs. Helen Lavern Brush, 81, 1003 W. Ash St., Rogers, died Sept. 26 at her home. Born April 2, 1894, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Gifford and Hattie Kier Booth, and was reared and attended schools in Wichita. Kan. She moved to Avoca in 1943 and she and her husband operated the Rainbow Ranch. She was a 4-H Club leader and took part in Home Demonstration Club activities. Her hobby was making dolls to give children and she gave away several hundred. A member of First Christian Church, she was a Sunday school teacher and leader of her women's circle.

Survivors include her husband, Laurence Brush of the home; one son, Robert W. Brush, Avoca; one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Ellen) Meenen, Fayetteville; one brother, Gifford Booth, Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Booth, Mrs. Harriett Jennings and Mrs. Josephine Cline, Wichita, Kan.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in First Christian Church, Rogers, with the Rev. Randall A. Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Rogers.

Visitation hours will be Monday, 4-9 p.m., in Burns Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church in Rogers.
