STRAWBERRY - Donah Bertie Mullen Kay, 97, of Strawberry died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Jan. 5, 1910, at Jesup, she was the daughter of J.L. and Tinty Mullen. She married Floyd Kay in 1929. She lived most of her life in Strawberry, where she and her husband owned Kay's Grocery and Station. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Strawberry.
Survivors include a daughter, Nina Kay Richey; a sister, Imai Hoggard of Oxnard, Calif.; five grandchildren, Ted Oliver of Batesville, Don Richey, Randy Richey and Bobbi Geurin, all of Strawberry, and Ronald Richey of Agnos; a great-grandson, Justin Richey of Strawberry; three great-granddaughters, Kelsey Richey of Strawberry, Brandi Miller of Jonesboro and Amanda Johnson of Little Rock; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Ella Mae Oliver; a great-grandson, Eric Watkins; five brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Strawberry. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Strawberry under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Ted Oliver, Don Richey, Ronald Richey, Randy Richey, Justin Richey and Miles Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobbi Geurin, Kelsey Richey, Brandi Miller and Amanda Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
