A graveside service for Dorothy E. Bench of Lone Rock will be at 2PM Sunday at Burnt Schoolhuse Cemetery at Lone Rock with Bro. Bill Brewer officiating. Mrs. Bench died Thursday (Sep 2, 1999) at Baxter Manor Nursing Home. She was 80.
Mrs. Bench was born July 21, 1919, at Lone Rock to Ossaroo and Frances Elizabeth Sanders Chapman. She married James Corbett Bench Sep 18, 1938 at Culp and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lone Rock Church of Christ and a lifetime area native.
She is survived by one son, Robert Bench of Norfork; one daughter, Wilma McLehaney of Concord; one brother, John Chapman of Mt. Home; three sisters Tina Freeman of Eugene, OR, Vivian Chapman and Mary Hurst, both of Norfork; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ossaroo and Frances Chapman; her husband, James Bench; two sons and two brothers.
Visitation will be from noon to 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home. Arrangements by Roller Funeral Home.
