B. V. Reese was born to the Union of the late Manse and Ida Mitchell Reese on October 3, 1905 in the St. John Community. He was the seventh child of ten children.

At an early age he joined St John Baptist Church. He moved to Menifee and united with St. Mark Baptist Church and later with Philadelphia Baptist Church where he remained a loyal and faithful member.

He married Theosia Williamson in 1951. He began his profession as a carpenter at an early age and was one of a kind, who left glad hearts and smiling faces where ever he went. He served his community and church in the capacities of Member of Eastside School Board, Water Commissioner, President of the Choir, Chairman of Trustee board. Superintendent of Sunday School for 30 years, Vice-President and later President of West Wing Singing Union until his death.

He departed this life on Tuesday, August 2, 1983 in the Conway County Hospital in Morrilton, Arkansas.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, two daughters, three brothers, two sisters, five grandchildren, two great grandsons, and a host of nepehews, niecess, relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
