NORFORK - Jame C. Bench died at his home Tuesday (Feb 20, 1996). He was 87.
Mr. Bench was born March 14, 1908, in Rea Valley to John Louis and Rebecca Elizabeth Newton Bench. He married Dorothy Chapman Sep 19, 1938, in Culp.
A retired saw mill operator, he was a member of the Lone Rock Church of Christ and enjoyed wood carving.
He is survived by his wife, at home; three sons, Lewis Bench, Henry Bench and Robert Bench, all of Lone Rock; a daughter, Wilma McLehaney of Concord; a sister, Nellie Martin of Dexter, MO; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9AM - 9PM Thursday at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends 6-8PM. A graveside service will be held at 2PM Friday at the historic Burnt Shool House Cemetery with Brother Bill Brewer officiating.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
