He had been steadily failing all winter and had been confined to his bed for the past two months. Death was the result of Bright's disease and complications. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at ten o'clock at the Christian church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.P. Dillon. Interment was in the Rogers cemetery. The deceased was born June 10, 1847 in Harrison county, Ohio. When he was six months old his parents moved to Jay county, Ind. where he grew to manhood and where he was married August 28, 1868 to Miss Malvina White. To this union was born seven children, four of whom with his wife, survive him. They are Orlando T. Johnson of Charleston, Ark.; Edward B. Johnson of Rogers; Thomas E. Johnson of Chicago and a daughter, Bessie, living at home. Tom E. Johnson arrived Monday to attend the funeral. Mr. Johnson came to Rogers from Charleston, Ark. fifteen years ago and had lived at the latter place some five or six years after leaving Indiana.
