BENTONVILLE — Harold D. Payne, 70, of Bentonville died Dec. 12, 2008, in Bentonville. He was born June 1, 1938, in Bentonville to William "Bill" and Dovie Townsend Payne.
He was Navy veteran and a graduate of Bentonville High School. He was a machinist for 43 years at Kennametal in Bentonville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bentonville and the National Rifle Association. He was an active participant in 1840 Living istory events.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Rodgers Payne; a son, Jacob Payne of Gravette; a daughter, Jessica Costaldi of Fayetteville; and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville. The Revs. Phillip Smith and Herbert Ray will officiate.
A private burial service will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to First Baptist Church of Bentonville.
