Leonard Floyd Porter, 77, of Brentwood, a retired farmer and carpenter, died in a local hospital Sunday. He was born near Black Oak in Washington County July 5, 1892, the son of Mitchell Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Harrison Porter. He was married in 1911 to the former Mabel Mills who died in 1967. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.D. Foster of Winslow and Mrs. W.P. Lemings of Canadian, Okla.; five sons, Leon of Fayetteville, Gerald of Springdale, Robert of Hartshorne, Okla., James of Reseda, Calif. and Darrell of the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam; one brother, Homer of Silsbee, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Felina Knight of Cushing, Okla., Mrs. Maudie Horne a Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Lila Robbins of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Verna Toumey of Etectra, Tex.; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will he announced by the Watson Mortuary.
