Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Hurlbut, 99, Elm Springs, died Feb. 9 in a Springdale nursing home. Born May 2, 1878, at Vermillion, Kan., she was the daughter of James and Ada Jane Lewis Smith and a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church. She moved to Elm Springs five years ago from California.
Survivors include one son, James Hurlbut of Elm Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Kelly of Cocamonga, Calif., Mrs. Mildred Kelly of Springdale, Mrs. Mary Newton of Mt. Mesa, Calif. and Mrs. Ada Snavely of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elm Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
