SPRINGDALE — Robert Noble Russell Sr., age 91, of Springdale, died June 2, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Butler, Pa., the son of William Colter and Jenny Claire Noble Russell.

He was a retired farmer and attended Freedom Fellowship Church in Tontitown. Mr. Russell served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling and going to church.

He was preceded by his first wife, Zora Mae Russell.

Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Joy Golding Russell of the home; one son, Bobby Russell and his wife, Angie, of Springdale; two daughters, Debye Word and her husband, Sammy, of Bearden, Ark., and Diane Marshall and her husband, Bryce, of Greenwood, Ark.; two brothers, John Russell of Wyoming and Charles Russell of Odessa, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship Church, 990 W. Henri De Tonti Blvd., Tontitown, Ark., with Tom Doty officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today, June 3, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship Church.

Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.memfuneral.com.
