Wayne West, 53, of Watts, Okla., passed away at home with his family by his side on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007. He was born Oct. 9, 1953, in Reno, Nev., to Arnold and Wanda West. Wayne married Betty Hagler on Jan. 22, 1971, in Rudy. To this union two daughters and one son was born. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Arnold West, one granddaughter, Peyton, and brother, Tim West.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; two daughters, Misty and husband Shawn Linton of McCurtain, Okla., and Penny West of Fort Smith; one son, Wayne and wife Wendi West of Houston; his mother, Wanda West of Van Buren; three sisters, Judy West and Debbie Roller, both of Van Buren, and Sandy Ramey of Tulsa; and eight grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Jake and Logan Linton, Tia, Hunter and Bryson Dotson West, and Xavier, Malek and India Dotson. He also has many other loved ones who will miss him greatly.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with a burial at Harmon Cemetery in Ozark. Pastor Jim Waldrop of Christian Grove Free Will Baptist, where Wayne attended before moving, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be nephews James Rutledge, Jeremy Rutledge, Allen Ramey, Andrew Camarillo, Jay Warburton, Frank Hagler and Rusty Hagler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hagler, Bob Hagler, Ray Hagler, Moises Camarillo, C.W. Jones and Virgil Huff.
