SPRINGDALE — Dr. Frank A. Burdick Jr., 80, of Springdale died May 9, 2002, in Springdale. He was born July 7, 1921, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Frank A. and Elsie Kitchen Burdick. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the 895th Signal Co. and served in Europe for two years. He received a D.D.S. degree from the University of Missouri in 1950. He practiced dentistry in Vinita, Okla., and became an ordained deacon in the Baptist Church in 1953. He served as a city councilman from 1953 until 1955 and was an assistant professor at the University of Texas, Houston, from 1955-1962. He was certified as a prosthodontist in 1964. He earned a M.S. degree from the University of Kansas City, Mo., in 1965 and became a clinical assistant professor at the University of Missouri in the Kansas City School of Dentistry.

In 1965, he was appointed as staff prosthodontist at the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He served as chief of dental service in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the University of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Aspinwall Medical Center. He was a former chief of dental service in Memphis, Tenn. He transferred to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville in 1977 and retired in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale, a Fellow in the American College, a Fellow in the Northwest Association of Prosthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association and Who's Who in the Southwest.

Survivors include his wife, Teddiejean Burdick of the home; two sons, Jerry Alan Burdick of Kansas City, Mo., and James Russell Burdick of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Sandra Jeanne Hanson of Garland, Texas, and Patricia Ann Fritchie of Springdale; three brothers, Dr. Robert Burdick of Altus, Okla., and Richard Burdick and Harold Burdick, both of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Dona Wright of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Rodney Weeks and the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

SPRINGDALE — Teddiejean Burdick, 80, of Springdale died Feb. 19, 2006, in Bentonville. She was born July 17, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan., to Ted Edward and Blanche Weed Olson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Burdick, in 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Alan Burdick and wife Linda of Kansas City, Mo., and James Russell Burdick and wife Kathy of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Sandra Jeanne Hanson and husband Phil of Garland, Texas, and Patricia Fritchie of Centerton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Fritchie, Matthew Fritchie, Steven Burdick, Jason Estep, John Hanson, Phil Hanson and Shane Stewart.
