Roland S. Carmody, age 96, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at his residence.
He was born May 5, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, to John Dennis and Marybel Spencer Carmody. Mr. Carmody retired from Peoples Gas Company in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church where he served as an usher and the Fisherman Council Knights of Columbus #7353 with which he served often as a pallbearer for parishioners of St. Peter's Church.
He is survived by four daughters: Bonnie (Paul) Welchans: Bakersfield, California; Debbie (Bruce) McDonald: Lanark, Illinois; Sandy Belske: Vienna, Illinois; and Kathy Baker: Naples, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and his longtime friend and companion Donna Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia Adams Carmody; one brother and one sister.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold Celebrant. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation . Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home. Visit our online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
