When John W Brady was born in 1856 in Illinois, his father, Owen, was 28 and his mother, Catherine, was 22. He married Virginia M Heffington on December 14, 1876, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had eight children in 16 years. He died on December 13, 1908, in Faulkner, Arkansas, at the age of 52.
