SPRINGDALE — Pastor Robert Lee Jackson, 84, of Springdale died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born March 4, 1928, in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Jewell and Velva Colvin Jackson.

Robert was president of the Oklahoma District Church Missouri Synod. He was a Lutheran pastor for many years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Bird Jackson, to whom he was married June 26, 1949.

Survivors are one daughter, Jennifer Jantz and husband, Ted, of Newton, Kan.; three sons, Steve Jackson and wife, Susan, of Arnold, Mo., Greg Jackson of Springdale and Cris Jackson of Afghanistan; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Krause officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

NEWTON, Kan. — Barbara Jean Jackson, 75, of Newton died April 29, 2005, at Friendly Acres Retirement community in Newton.

She was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Springdale to Walter and Bertie Taylor Bird. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Ladles Aid, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Bible class. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. She enjoyed crafts and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Jackson of Newton, to whom she was married June 26, 1949; three sons, Stephen Jackson of St. Louis, Mo., Gregory Jackson of Springdale and Cris Jackson of Sapulpa, Okla.; one daughter, Jennifer Jantz and husband Ted of Newton; one sister, Virginia Detmer of Springdale; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale with the Rev. Mark Lauderbach officiating. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel in Springdale.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Jackson, Gregory Jackson, Cris Jackson, Evan Jackson, Tyson Jackson and Eli Jantz.
