Herbert Lee Goss, 102 of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

He was born the youngest son to the late William A. and Emma Goss at their home in Vilonia, AR. He was married to the late Bessie Earkle Stanley, in 1929; they lived in Vilonia, AR before relocating to North Little Rock in 1963.

Herbert was an active member of Levy United Methodist Church, and a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. Mr. Goss raised his family on the farm outside of Vilonia before taking a job with Kroger in 1948 where he retired in 1971.

He is survived by one son: Stanley and Shirley Goss, of Vilonia; and one daughter, Maxine Higgins of North Little Rock. He also is survived by eight grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Billy Goss, and one granddaughter, Minda Goss.

Visitation with the family is Thursday evening 5-7 p.m., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home (501-791-7400) in North Little Rock. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 31 at Levy United Methodist Church, 701 W. 47th St. North Little Rock, AR 72118. Interment will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery, Vilonia, AR.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Levy United Methodist Church or Cypress Valley Cemetery Fund c/o Gordon Higgins, #6 Cypress Valley Rd., Vilonia, AR 72173.
