Alberta Metcalf, 90, of Wilmot died Sunday, October 24, 1999, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A life-long resident of Wilmot, she was a homemaker and a member of the John Wesley A. M. E. Zion Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Green "Pete" Metcalf and a brother, Limmon Holmes. Survivors include four sons, Andrew Metcalf of Wilmot, Lee Edward and Phenton Metcalf of Lost Angeles, CA, and John T. Metcalf of Moreno Valley, CA: two daughters, Barbara Brooks of Wilmot and Barbara Ann Latoison of Houston, CA; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 29, in the John Wesley A. M. E. Zion Church with Rev. James Vault officiating. Burial will follow services at the Jim Smith Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
