Mildred L. Sowell, 88, of Vilonia, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009.
She was born November 5, 1920 in Bailey Chapel, AR to the late Joe W. Bailey and Sarah Ellen Kirby Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira W. Sowell; a sister, Caralee Stevens of Canyon, TX.
She was a member of the Center Point Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, wonderful Christian mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful friend and a Christian mentor to all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed by her family who loved and cared for her so.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Sowell and wife Jerita of Vilonia; daughters, Jan Melton and husband Bill of Conway and Sue Patrom and husband Harold of Vilonia; grandchildren, Brian Sowell and wife Mandy, Kim Hill and husband Todd, Scott Patrom and wife Laura, Lesha Harlan and husband Brad, Tanya Taylor and husband Mike; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Otis D. Bailey of Oklahoma City, Joe K. Bailey of Mtn. Home; sisters, Lillie B. Clements of Amarillo, TX, Lois Emison of Vilonia.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway with Rev. Graig Caswell and Brother Sam Bailey officiating. Interment will be in Cypress Valley Cemetery, Vilonia.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Joe Fowlkes, Curt Williams, Kenny Martin, Dale Sowell, Roy Gunter, Kirby Bailey.
Memorials may be made to the Center Point Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund in Vilonia.
The family appreciates the wonderful care given to their mother by the hospital staff on the third floor at Conway Regional Medical Center and by Hospice Home Care staff.
