Husband of Wilma Ann Sheppard Drain
Sonny Drain, 76, of Ozark died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010.
He was a retired self-employed backhoe operator and member of Fellowship of Christians Church in Russellville. He was born Sept. 4, 1933, in Madison County to Sherman and Nancy Ellen Taylor Drain. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie Arthurs; and a half-sister, Elizabeth Drain.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Ann Sheppard Drain; four sons, Pastor E. Wayne Drain of Russellville, Johnny A. Drain of Hot Springs, Kenny D. Drain of Russellville and Tim K. Drain of Ozark; sisters, Ilene Baker of Prairie Grove, Clara Ann Goodman of Hartford, Sandra McClellan of Ozark and Elsie Drain; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Dr. Travis Arterbury and Pastor E. Wayne Drain officiating. Burial will be in Belt Cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Joe Powell, Wennel Owen, Brent Drain, Taylor Drain, Jason Jerrell and Tony Sheppard.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris, Tyler, Carter, Elijah, Jack, Ben and Tucker Drain; Ben and Blake Gifford; Steven Bennett; Doug Darter Jr.; Mike Arthurs, and James Marsh.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home, 2315 W. Commercial, Ozark. A reception will follow the service at the North Franklin County Fair Building.
Memorials may be made to the Wilma Drain Memorial Fund at the Bank of the Ozarks.
