Herbert Alverson, age 76 of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, August 23, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born November 17, 1924 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Hamp and Gladys Welcher Alverson. He was a farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Centerville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Alverson.

Survivors include his wife, Madge Alverson; two sons and daughter-in-law & fianc e, Larry and Sandra Alverson and Doug Alverson and Sue Rigdon all of Dardanelle, AR; two daughters and son-in-law and fianc e Beverly and John Widders of Lake Jackson, TX and Carol Jones and Larry Billingsley both of Russellville, AR; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bob Covington of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral service was August 25, 2001 at the Centerville Assembly of God Church with Rev. Clellan Tilley officiating. Burial was in Petillo Hill Cemetery, Centerville, AR by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle, AR. Pallbearers were Chris Mans, Jimmy "Pepper" Martin, Doyle Claypool, Bud Barnett, Sonny George, Eugene "Boog" Keeling, Rick Standridge. Honorary were Robert Baunton and Donny Rector.
