Mrs. Sandra L. Smith, 71, of Vilonia, went to be with her Lord October 14, 2012.
Sandra Lee Smith was born April 23, 1941, to Grover and Betty (Lawson) Muston at Lafeyette, IN.
She grew up in Lafeyette, graduating from high school there. She joined the United States Air Force on April 18, 1961, at the age of 20 and honorably served until 1964.
Sandra was united in marriage to Carl Smith on May 17, 1963, at Ft. Worth, TX. She and Carl lived in Nebraska for 10 years and have lived in Vilonia since 1976. She was employed by Goldman and Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed traveling. She was a very active member of Center Point Free Will Baptist Church since 1976, she had a real passion for youth ministry and was instrumental in the multi-media department for the church as well. She very much exhibited Christian living.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carl; sons, James (Rhonda) Smith, David (Teresa) Smith, Timothy (Georgette) Smith, Andrew (Tamela) Smith and Paul Smith; 19 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Randy Joe Muston of Evansville, IN, Barry Muston of Lafeyette, IN, Leon "Skeeter" Muston of Hot Springs, and Gary Muston of South Bend, IN; sisters, Cheryl Wortman of Battle Ground, IN, Candy Kemp of Hot Springs, Diana Bryant of Lafeyette, IN, Carol Wortman of Lafeyette, IN, Gayle Lahri of Plano, TX. Lisa Daniels of California and Sandy Hogue of West Virginia and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents, Robert Wortman and Juanita Vaught; brothers, Richard Muston, Steve Muston and Bobby Wortman; a sister, Becky Williams; and a grandson, Phillip Smith.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Center Point Free Will Baptist Church in Vilonia, with Bro. Greig Caswell officiating.
Interment will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home (801 8th Ave.) in Conway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Multi-media Center at Center Point Free Will Baptist Church (P.O. Box 519 Vilonia, AR 72173).
