Former Ozark businessman Grover Clifton Mainard died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at 89. Grover Clifton Mainard, the son of Grover and Melissa (Caton) Mainard, was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Charleston. He was a former mayor of Ozark, manager of Franklin County Farmer's Co-op, owner of Farmer's Exchange, branch manager of First Savings & Loan Bank, worked for Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative, was a member of Ozark First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's organization, a member of Franklin County Tax Equalization Board, board member of Turner Hospital Development Council, a 32nd degree Mason with Amrita Grotto, a former post commander of the American Legion, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gelene (Whitson) Mainard of Ozark; one son, James C. "Jim" Mainard of Ozark; one grandson, James C. "Jay" Mainard of Ozark; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ozark First United Methodist Church with interment at Highland Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Ron Newberry.
Pallbearers will be Bill Sossamon, Wallace Alston, Gordon W. "Mack" McCain, Stan Ott, Grover Jameson and Gary Donberger.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Ozark United Methodist Men's group, Wayne English and Gary McGlothin.

Gelene Mainard, 93, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Ozark.
She was retired from Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative and a homemaker. She was a member of the Tri T's, United Methodist Women and a member of The United Methodist Church of Ozark.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 4, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Ozark, with Reverend Keith Dodson officiating with burial at Highland Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son, Jim Mainard of Ozark; one sister, Mary Lou Kesner of Fort Smith , Arkansas; one brother, Jack Whitson, JR. of Ozark; one grandchild, Jay Mainard of Springdale, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Alston, Mack McCain, George Lindley, Clinton Hall and Phil Nichols.
