BENTONVILLE — Howard David Hodson, 78, of Bentonville died March 24, 2009, in Springdale. He was born July 6, 1930, in Chandler, Okla., to David Arnold and Zuba Watkins Hodson.

He married Glenda Hollis Friend on June 22, 1962. He retired from the Army Reserve in 1990 after 38 years of service. He served during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Cave Springs Post 274. He was a former president of Tired Iron of the Ozarks, on the Board of Directors of Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association, was a Mason, a Shriner, of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Tryon Alumni Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark David Hodson of Carney, Okla., and Jonathan Avery Hodson of Bentonville; three daughters, Lorna Kay Glory of Parker, Ariz., Martha Jane Hodson of Oklahoma City and Julie Ann Quinonez of Woolwich, N.J.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Carl Palmer will officiate.
