SPRINGDALE — David Larry Nation, 64, of Springdale, Ark, died Jan. 9, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice Springdale, Ark. Born Jan. 13, 1947, in Sapulpa, Okla., he was the son of John Nation and Frieda Rivers Nation.

He lived in Springdale most of his adult life. He was a lifetime cowboy and champion team roper. He was also a Gospel singer. David served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a petty officer, fourth class, and served four years in active duty and two in the reserve.

He was employed by the City of Springdale as the supervisor of signs and markings. He married Faye Rogers Bohall in Gravette, Ark., in June 2004. David
was a member of the First Christian Church, Gravette, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Faye of the home; two daughters; one son; two stepsons; one stepdaughter; two brothers, John Ed Nation and wife, DeeDee, of Kellyville, Okla., and Donny Nation and wife, Robyn, of Hobart, Okla.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and lots of friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Eric Carter, Jerry McCoy, Chuck Harris, Leonard McCoy, Coy Freshwater and Jerry Porter.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with the Rev. C.H. Doss and the Rev. Guy Durkee officiating. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Ark.
