Mrs. Shirley Degges, 65, of Crossett, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Mrs. Degges was a native of Morehouse Parish, Louisiana and a resident of Crossett since 1965. She was a member of the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary and she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Degges in 2009; her parents, Johnnie B. & Ernestine Martin Watson; a sister, Betty Mason and two infant brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Charre Degges Todd of Crossett; three sons, Lamar Thomas Degges of Beekman, Louisiana, Ronald Carmen Degges of Fargo, North Dakota and Daniel Jason Degges of Hamburg; two brothers, John Watson of Rising Fawn, Georgia and Ronnie Watson of Austin, Arkansas; four sisters, Alice Sims of Jacksonville, Peggy Thompson of El Dorado, Carolyn Witcher of Hot Spirngs and Barbara Knisley of Wingina, Virginia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Tamburo and Rev. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jimmy Don Gilliam, Josh Degges, Courtney Todd, Bradley Todd, Donnie Miller and Edwin Degges. Honorary pallbearers are the Men of Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church, 3331 Hwy 425 South, Hamburg, AR 71646.
