Husband of Gerry Miner McCartney
Gurvis Leon McCartney, 80, of Ozark died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Carroll County.
He was a retired U. S. Forest Service technician, U. S. Army veteran, member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, native of Mountain Top, son of the late George and Velma Wright McCartney, and was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Leon McCartney; and two brothers, James McCartney and Bob McCartney.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Miner McCartney; one daughter, Debbie Morris of Ozark; two sons, Darrell McCartney and Bruce McCartney, both of Ozark; three brothers, Burl McCartney of Clarksville and Billy McCartney and Larry McCartney, both of Ozark; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Bethel Assembly of God Church at Mountain Top with Rev. Coy Doss and David Doss officiating.
Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Dean Wright, Ronnie Wright, Chris McCartney, Dusty McCartney, Cletus Davis and Allen McCartney.
Honorary pallbearers were Robbie Morris, Randy Wyers and Earl Wyers.
