Arden C. Odom, 89, of Mayflower, passed away June 14, 2008.

Arden was born November 4, 1918 to Clarence and Emma Odom at Ward, AR (Lonoke County). After graduating from high school, Arden joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp), working in Wyoming and Idaho.

During WWII, Arden was inducted into the US Army and fought bravely for his country in the Pacific Theater.

After the war, he was employed by Darragh Feed Co. and retired from Olin Mathesion Chemical Co.

Arden was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and the love of his life, daughter, Sherry Lynn.

He is survived light of his life, wife, Ann; brother, Guthrie Odom; sister-in-law, Nina Odom; stepson, Jack Taylor and his wife Karen; two step-grandchildren, Tina Grady and her husband Noah, and Franque Taylor; six nephews and six nieces.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 801 8th Avenue in Conway. Burial will follow at 16th Section Cemetery (Lonoke County) with military honors.

Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Arden’s six nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be his six nieces.

A special thanks to Bob and Debbie Raines, Betty Jackson, and the wonderful staff at Doctor’s Hospital Hospice in Little Rock.
