Lyman Albert Gunter of Conway went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at 4:30 a.m. Lyman was born August 28, 1919 in Vilonia, AR to the late Floyd and May Dixon Gunter. He spent 50 years as a contractor and homebuilder leaving a legacy in Colorado, Wyoming, Mississippi, Oregon, Utah, Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas. His works included several jobs with the National Park Service, rebuilding homes following natural disasters, and establishing a successful textile manufacturing company. He and his family attended the First Assembly of God in Conway. Lyman is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Gary and his wife Maggie of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Valerie and her husband Brandon Land of Collinsville, OK; and special niece, Brittani Ballard. Also survived by sisters, Marcilla Long of Conway, Joyce and her husband Harden Kemper of Vilonia and brother Gearld Gunter of Vilonia; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lyman was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and Robert Gunter and sister Metra Wright. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. Lyman will be laid to rest at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia. Warm thanks to Debbie Chapman, her family, and associates for their love and special care.
