SPRINGDALE — Velma Gertrude Cline, 89, of Springdale died Wednesday, June 10, 2009. She was born April 19, 1920, in Kingston to Harvey Harlow and Winnie Gertrude (Thomas) Bowen.
Velma was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Audie Gibbons, Daphna Cook, Delma Helms and Reeta Allred.
Survivors include her husband, Norman B. Cline of the home; two sons, Newel B. Cline and wife Georgia of Springdale, Norvel L. Cline and wife Elizabeth of Springdale; one daughter, Ina Vern Johnson and husband Ron of Siloam Springs; one brother, Ellis F. Bowen and wife Imogene of Springdale; one sister, Opal Bowen of Payson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with Pastor Loy Counts officiating.
Pallbearers will be Newel Junior Cline, Norman Lee Cline, Scottie Cline, Jeremy Cline, Larry Johnson and Bradley Bowen.
Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
