Doyal Thomas Parnell of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Doyal Thomas Parnell, son of the late Earl Parnell and Lucy Dickerson Parnell, was born July 18, 1934 in Baxter County, Arkansas. He departed this life January 14, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 27 days. He was united in marriage to Ruedean Lester on March 16, 1981. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was employed by the Corp of Engineers, retiring after twenty-three years of employment. He was also employed by the Baxter County Road and Bridge Department for 9 years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Ruedean Lester Parnell of Calico Rock; one son: Michael Parnell (Tasha) of Pyatt, Arkansas; three daughters: Betty Conner of Mountain Home, Vicki Wolfe (Bruce) of Mountain Home and Sharon Ziemer of Yellville, Arkansas; three stepchildren: Eddie Lester, Susan Nguyen and Jenny Branscum all of Calico Rock; 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Steven Doyal Parnell; six brothers: Ralph Parnell, Earnie Parnell, Carl Parnell, Ray Parnell, Lynn Parnell and Gene Parnell; and three sisters: Lena Chapman, Virgie Cox and Hazel Cox and one step son: David "Rojo" Lester.
Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers: Delman Parnell, Everett Parnell, Kurt Parnell, Tyler Chapman, Junior Watts and Yen Nguyen.
