SPRINGDALE — Rufus Franklin Bolin, 85, of Springdale died June 25, 2002, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Jan. 10, 1917, near Bristow, Okla., to Herschel and Ethel Whitenack Bolin. He raised cattle on a farm near Highfill until he retired and raised horses at his home near Springdale. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Chenoweth Bolin.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Bolin of the home; three sons, Clifton Bolin and wife Calla of Highfill, Brad Bolin and wife Linda of Strang, Okla., and Dexter Bolin and wife Jimmy of Oologah, Okla.; one daughter, Patricia Philpott and husband Randall of Lavaca; one stepdaughter, Linda Watts and husband Cliff of Hindsville; two sisters, Hazel Schlegel and Betty Winfrey, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Loren Collins officiating. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Paul Bolin, Matthew Philpott, Wayne Bolin, Lynn Bolin, Bud Bolin, Cody Bolin, Jim Estep and Tim Holland.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
