Ervy L. Stewart, 84, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, October 27, 2007.
He was born November 27, 1922 in Detroit, Texas, the son of William Wesley Stewart and Lily Mae (Brackett) Stewart.

He served in the Army in World War II and was in the Philippines and the South Pacific.

As a young man he was a cotton farmer in Texas and then went into the dry wall business. He opened Stewart Brothers Construction Company in Lubbock, Texas.

He worked hard, was honest, and loved his family and church family. He enjoyed playing the organ and loved to sing religious songs such as "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". He was a member of Mount Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Stewart of Mount Pleasant; sons, Ervy Lyndel Stewart and wife, Aleeta, of Sidney, and Stephen Douglas Stewart and wife, Debra, of Sidney; and one daughter Sharon Lee Engle and husband, Ken, of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Glenda Sue Howard; three brothers; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Mount Pleasant Southern Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Qualls officiating.

Pallbearers are Shane Howard, Herschel Howard, Lyndel Stewart, Stephen Stewart, Jim Wikman, and Ken Engle.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2007.

Interment will be at Barren Fork Cemetery at Mount Pleasant by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne. (870) 368-4540

Mary Marie Stewart, 90, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, January 2, 2013, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne.
She was born in Deport, Texas on June 1, 1923 and was the daughter of Troy and Minnie Smith.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons: Ervy Lyndel Stewart and his wife, Aleeta and Stephen Douglas Stewart and his wife, Debra all of Sidney; a daughter, Sharon Engle and her husband, Ken of Arlington, TX; a brother, James Smith of Wisconsin; a sister, Doris Wood of Stephenville, TX; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Ervy Leon Stewart; a daughter, Glenda Sue Howard; a grandchild, Brandi Jo Pearce; a great-grandchild, James Wikman; and four brothers.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Barren Fork Cemetery with Bro. Bruce Qualls officiating.

There is no visitation. Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
